A year after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Louisiana is edging towards signs of recovery but residents at the state’s only major seaside resort suspect there is a long way to go before business returns to normal.
Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the Macondo blowout – the worst environmental disaster in US history. BP says it has made tourism reparations of $18 million to Mississippi in an attempt to help draw tourists back to its beaches following the catastrophe.
